Batur Lake and Mountain

The Batur Lake is located in the Batur village, about 68 km drivefrom Denpasar . Kerta Gosa

The Kertha Gosa pavilions, built in the 18th century, are located in Klungkung, 40 kilometers northeast of Denpasar. They are especially known for their ceiling murals that depict punishments in hell for miscreants and rewards in heaven for the righteous.

Separated from the Puri, lies the complex of justice buildings: The hall of Justice (Kertagosa), The floating hall (Bale Kambang) and the water pool surrounding, which are called “Taman Gili”. The ceilings of these buildings are covered by paintings on fibrous cement sheets. The original paintings were done with traditional Balinese colors on canvas, then later replaced anew in 1930 by using the fibrous cement sheets, and again were renewed in 1960. The paintings are the sample of early traditional arts before being influenced by outlandish style and techniques.

The paintings here depict the story of “Bima Swarga” (Bima in Heaven). One of the great “Pandawa” heroes, when looking for his parents in heaven and in hell. The Balinese strongly believe in “Karma Phala”, whereby one is punished or rewarded for one actions, either in this lifetime or a subsequent one, as the Balinese believe in “Reincarnation”. Therefor, if one was a miserly king in one lifetime, for example, then he might be a pauper in the next one so that he would learn about the gift of the material wealth. Gitgit waterfall

The waterfall is sixty metres high and as the water falls, it looks like white clouds falling down the mountain one after another.
The falling water almost completely covers the rockface of the fall. If your camera is able, try taking some long exposure photographs. A visit to the waterfall at Gitgit should be on every tourist’s list. It is about nine kilometres from Singaraja towards the south.Although the winding road is steep and you have to walk the last part, it is accessible by car or motorbike. You can park your vehicle at a parking lot on the Denpasar to Singaraja road from where you can see the waterfall. To get closer, you will need to walk. The path can be considered in two halves.

The first part is a stepped concrete path bordered by trees and shrubs on one side and a myriad of colourful shops on the other. Halfway along the scene changes and on both sides you can see coffee and clove trees. It is a refreshing experience to walk in this quiet area where the birds take turns to sing. The air is cool and gradually gets colder a you approach the waterfall. A short distance from the waterfall, the fine water spray will cool your body. Sometimes the atmosphere will become misty. Barong Dance

On the way when go to Ubud or Kintamani, after pass over Sanur, we will reach Batubulan. In this area, same as with Ubud, many there are artistic shops and handicraft. But us to Batubulan not to go shopping, but witness dance of Barong that famous.

Barong Ket or Barong Keket is Barong dance which at most there are in Bali and most often show and also have complete dance motion bursar. from its form, Barong Ket represent solidarity between lion, tiger, cow or boma.
